If, after examining your thesis and conducting the oral, the Examiners cannot recommend that you pass even if you were to correct your workthey will in most cases recommend that you should be allowed to revise and resubmit your work for a second examination. If so, you might want to weigh up the pros and cons of accepting the invitation to revise the work for the PhD. If you chose not to revise your thesis you will not receive a PhD degree.
